Donostia Naval Museum – Euskal Itsas Museoa
The Donostia Naval Museum, also known as the Donostia Maritime Museum, is the ideal place for those who enjoy naval history and how it has evolved in our region of Gipuzkoa.
This museum is located in the Bahía de la Concha, very close to the beach itself and the San Sebastián aquarium. This place has both exhibitions and activities offered by the maritime museum itself.

Exhibitions Naval Museum Donostia
The Naval Museum of Donostia has a variety of exhibits that provide a fascinating understanding of the history of the ship and the sea. These exhibits highlight the role of the sea in the life of San Sebastián and demonstrate the extensive maritime history of the area.
The museum gathers exhibitions throughout the year that vary during the year, currently there are three exhibitions: Miradas al Patrimonio, MOILAK and #MUSEALIAK6.
The first of them, a photographic group whose objective is to share the environment, traditions and landscapes of the Basque Country. Miradas al Patrimonio is a public contest so that anyone can distribute their approach to our heritage as a society.
Moilak, port in Basque, is an exhibition that shows the socio-economic evolution of the maritime world through its history and how technology has adapted to our day to day.
The Musealiak project of the Donostia Naval Museum also exhibits the treasures and secrets of the seabed and transports visitors to the underwater world. One shows the richness and variety of heritage submerged in the waters of the Basque coast, from historic shipwrecks to old prices.
It even includes the stories surrounding these collections, whether they have a monetary value or are an everyday object.
All these exhibitions are free.
Activities and events at the Donostia Naval Museum
For visitors to have an even more enriching experience, the Donostia Naval Museum offers a variety of activities and special events. These activities aim to engage and educate people of all ages, giving them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the maritime world.
There are some workshops such as La Jarana that are essential to discover the secrets of our port as a family. It is an ideal visit in which children between the ages of 6 and 12 can enjoy while learning about our seafaring traditions.
The price of this workshop is €3 for each child and includes coloring material. Only available from Tuesday to Saturday.
There are also guided tours through the port in which, in addition to showing the different types of fishing that are being used, there is a tasting of some fishing in Kofradia-Itsas Etxea.
